An airlock provides a control for ingress and egress from either a contained area or aseptic area for two purposes
Containment
- To prevent egress of product from the rooms doing the processing.
- To prevent cross contamination in multi- product facilities.
ASEPTIC
- To prevent bio-burdens from entering into a sterile core production area.
- To prevent product exposure on operators from egressing into the facility.
